Not too many people remember Eddie Gale - or Dick Griffen for that matter. I got to hear Eddie a number of times in the late 70's when he'd come down for gigs in Santa Cruz. Glad to hear he's still playing. Looking fwd to hearing this concert, thanks!
Thanks both for the comments. Eddie's GHETTO MUSIC was one of my favorite albums growing up, and Dick's NOW IS THE TIME is one of the most often played albums I've ever owned. Great musicians and great people.
I love avant garde Jazz. I used to host a radio show and loved to play obscure cuts. Like all outlets for creative music in modern society, my show was canceled... but hey, we really needed "public affairs programming" in the midnight-1AM time slot. Especially the type you pay for, versus my voluntarily produced program.
